DONALD BRIGHTSMITH
Parrot Conservation and the Tambopata Macaw Project
Don Brightsmith PhD, director of The Tambopata Macaw Project (TMP) since 1999, has in the last 13 years taken the project from strength to strength and published a host of pioneering papers on various aspects of macaw breeding, reintroducing parrots to the wild and clay lick ecology. He has also been on hand to lead, teach and inspire scores of Peruvian and international students and volunteers.

PAMELA CLARK
The Making of a Parrot Companion

Pamela Clark, CVT is a well-known author, speaker and parrot behavior consultant. This presentation takes a look at important considerations for adopting a parrot and gives a clear blueprint for living successfully with that parrot. She discusses how to set up the ideal environment and then es- tablish the most appropriate social relationships to ensure the quality of life for both the parrot and the caregiver, thus, avoiding future problems. This is Pam’s fourth visit to PEAC-Cleveland.

KRIS PORTER
Successful Creative Foraging Ideas
Providing foraging activities for your parrot will help alle- viate boredom and provide him with a significant amount of physical and mental stimulation. Kris Porter will show you how to make your own bird toys with an emphasis on including foraging opportunities in the toys you make. She will include ideas for foraging toys and/or activities that can easily be incorporated into the daily routine of a busy parrot owner on a budget. Every attendee will leave with a kit to make their own parrot toy.
